Malou is an associate attorney in the Raleigh office. Her practice is focused on employment-based immigration matters.
Malou completed her undergraduate and law degrees in the Philippines. She was awarded a Rotary scholarship (GRSP) to pursue graduate studies at the University of Georgia and subsequently obtained full assistantship to complete her Master of Arts degree in Journalism & Mass Communication. Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Malou worked for a small immigration firm in New York City where she handled employment and family-based petitions. She then worked at the NJ branch office of a midsize firm, where she supervised an attorney and paralegals working on nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions. Malou’s primary experience is in labor certification (PERM), H-1B, and L-1A cases for large multinational IT companies. She has worked on PERM audit responses, responses to complex requests for evidence, and has advised clients on compliance issues.
