Vice chair of Much's Commercial Litigation group, Laya is an experienced litigator, trial lawyer, and advisor, whose practice focuses on general and complex civil litigation matters in almost every facet of the business world, including business torts, contract disputes, partnership disputes, infringement lawsuits, and employment disputes.
Laya has defended employers, corporate officers and directors, and corporate representatives in business-related lawsuits involving workplace harassment, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, defamation, business torts, breach of contract, and breach of fiduciary. Laya also has considerable knowledge and experience handling cases for common carriers and public entities, particularly in the areas of transportation, torts, compliance, property, and casualty, as well as insurance defense litigation involving personal injury, products liability, and premises liability.
Throughout her career, Laya's clients have ranged from Fortune 500 companies to government entities, to small and midsize businesses and entrepreneurs.
