Amanda Couture is an employment litigation attorney who defends businesses against employment-related discrimination claims in state and federal court and before agencies including the EEOC, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, and the Indiana Civil Rights Commission. Amanda represents employers in a variety of individual, collective, and class actions, including cases involving Title VII, the ADEA, the FMLA, the FLSA, the ADA, and non-competition agreement. In addition to litigation, Amanda advises clients on litigation avoidance counseling. She is especially interested in the interplay between the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, and she often advises clients regarding issues related to employee illness, disability, and leave. She provides policy training to employers, works on employee handbooks, and has extensive experience negotiating severance agreements.
