Environmental Essentials Webinar - EPA’s Proposed Repeal of the Carbon Pollution Standards for Power Plants: Implications for the Rest of Industry
Webinar, Hosted By Bracewell LLP
Date: Tue, Jul 8 , 2025- 8:30 AM
On June 17, EPA issued a proposed finding that CO2 emissions from fossil fuel power plants do not “significantly contribute to air pollution which may reasonably anticipated to endanger public health or welfare.” Based on this finding, EPA has proposed to revoke all CO2 regulations for coal-, gas- and oil-fired power plants.
In this webinar, Jeff Holmstead and Brittany Pemberton will briefly discuss the thinking behind the proposed finding and the likelihood that it will stand up in court. They will also analyze the implications of such a finding for other industry sectors – over the next four years and in a future Democratic administration.
