Launching in March 2017 the Australian RegTech Association is focused on “promoting the achievements, partnerships, collaborations, incubations and seeding of RegTech in Australia” through advocating, educating and supporting businesses in the sector. This is likely to involve facilitating engagement with industry stakeholders, advancing the use of technology and improving regulatory compliance outcomes.
13 founding members of RegTech have banded together including online compliance trainers and online marketplaces, providers of anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing solutions and companies promoting artificial intelligence compliance monitoring.
RegTech Association Director, Matt Symons, noted that they hope to work closely with FinTech Australia to continue to develop the ecosystem, with RegTech focusing on the regulatory technology and risk management technology subset in the broader FinTech space.
