Professional Biography

Tre A. Holloway works with clients to develop legal strategies, mitigate risk, and solve complex business disputes inside and outside the courtroom. Tre graduated from Harvard Law School, was a notes editor on the Harvard Law Review, and clerked on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Tre's clients include companies in the financial services, food, agriculture, health care, and maritime industries. He regularly represents policyholders seeking insurance coverage in complex disputes involving product liability, product recalls, and supply chain issues. He also defends lender liability claims on behalf of banks and other financial institutions. Tre has extensive experience litigating contract and business tort claims, consumer class actions, and other civil disputes arising under state and federal law.

In his appellate practice, Tre is accomplished in analyzing and briefing complex legal questions. He has drafted numerous winning briefs in state and federal courts across the country and is admitted to practice in the United States Courts of Appeals for the D.C., Second, Fourth, Fifth, and Ninth Circuits.

Tre also maintains an active pro bono practice. He represents clients in criminal appeals, immigration proceedings, and in family and probate court. His professional activities include an adjunct professorship at the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law, service on the South Carolina Bar Judicial Qualifications Committee, and judging various moot courts and mock trial competitions.

Before joining the firm, Tre served as a law clerk to the Honorable M. Margaret McKeown of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Before his clerkship, Tre was an associate in the Washington, D.C., office of a multinational Am Law 50 law firm, where he focused on voting rights and commercial litigation.

Tre is originally from Charleston, where he currently maintains his practice.
