Ted Lotchin is a partner in the firm’s Research Triangle office, where he is a member of the Health Care practice group. He counsels a broad range of clients, including hospitals and academic medical centers, physician practices, ambulatory service providers, and pharmaceutical and medical device companies on regulatory and transactional matters, as well as on False Claims Act litigation.
Mr. Lotchin has extensive experience representing health care companies on Medicare and Medicaid fraud and abuse issues, the Stark law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and the development and implementation of corporate compliance programs. He has defended numerous qui tam cases, and handled internal investigations, self-disclosures, overpayments and other enforcement matters. Mr. Lotchin has worked closely with both for-profit and nonprofit health systems in managing subpoenas from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services – Office of the Inspector General (HHS-OIG), the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and other state and federal regulatory agencies.
