Professional Biography

Rhys Daniels, Ph.D. joined Keller and Heckman in 2002.

Dr. Daniels is a Staff Scientist specializing in chemical, regulatory, biotechnology, and nanotechnology issues. He assists domestic and foreign companies in the commercialization of new chemicals in the United States and in other countries with chemical control laws. His key areas of expertise include regulation of new and existing chemicals under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), the Australian Industrial Chemicals (Notification and Assessment) Act 1989 (ICNAA), the Canadian Environmental Protection Act 1999 (CEPA), the European Union's Dangerous Substance Directive (DSD), and the Japanese Chemical Substances Control Law (CSCL).

After obtaining his Ph.D. in organic chemistry, Dr. Daniels conducted post-doctoral research in organic and organometallic chemistry at the University of Hamburg (Germany) and at the University of Chicago. Before joining Keller and Heckman, he was a Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist with Dow Corning Corporation, Midland, Michigan, where he coordinated corporate compliance with several federal, state, and international chemical control laws.

Dr. Daniels is fluent in English and German, and has a working knowledge of French and Spanish.
