Rachel Hughes is an associate in the Tax Department. Rachel’s practice principally focuses on U.S. and global tax matters relating to taxable and tax-free mergers & acquisitions, private equity fund formation and investment, real estate transactions, capital markets, structured finance, and restructuring. She has significant experience with the formation, investment in, and operation of real estate investment trusts, or REITs, including publicly-offered listed and non-listed REITs and private REITs.

Rachel also has experience advising not-for-profit/tax-exempt clients on matters such as applying for and maintaining exemption from federal income tax and minimizing unrelated business taxable income.
