Matthew S. Dicke is experienced in all facets of patent prosecution, freedom to operate and opinion work, and due diligence, as well as patent litigation and licensing. Mr. Dicke serves a global client base, serving as a strategic advisor and global patent portfolio manager for clients throughout the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Mr. Dicke has patent litigation, domestic and foreign prosecution and opinion experience involving a variety of technologies including software, artificial intelligence and machine learning, gaming devices, renal devices, medical diagnostic and monitoring systems, surgical devices, infusion pumps, hospital and EMR software and networks, air treatment devices, automotive diagnostic systems, liquid crystal display technology, pharmacy workstations, signal processing, consumer electronics, power systems, electrical hardware, robotics, cooking devices, wind turbines, membranes, beverage machines, mattress technology, household appliances, industrial painting systems, toys, footwear, sportswear, fashion accessories and sporting goods, design patents, business methods and a variety of other mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical devices. Mr. Dicke’s prosecution experience includes handling of U.S. ex parte reexaminations, inter partes review proceedings and assisting foreign counsel with European oppositions.
Mr. Dicke has successfully argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board. In addition, Mr. Dicke has participated in successful proceedings before the European Opposition Division and works closely with colleagues in our EPO practice implementing a global IP strategy for our clients.
Mr. Dicke’s diverse prior experience enables him to strategically counsel clients of all sizes through all aspects of their patent portfolios from concept inception and filing, through patentability and landscape research, all the way to licensing or litigation.
