Lauren Debra Harrington is an associate in the Detroit (Metro) office. She concentrates her practice on employment litigation in all areas of labor and employment law, including disputes involving retaliation, discrimination, harassment, unfair competition & trade secrets, whistleblower, and wage and hour claims. Lauren also counsels clients and provides services related to employee benefits, ethics compliance, staffing and workplace safety and health. Lauren has experience in both state and federal court, as well as with matters before administrative agencies.
Prior to joining Ogletree, Lauren worked in private practice focusing on labor and employment and civil litigation matters. She spent much of her practice assisting clients achieve success in court and counseling clients through changes in legislation and problem avoidance.
Lauren is a native Detroiter and recent graduate from Wayne State University Law School, where she gained invaluable experience through various legal opportunities during her time as a student. Lauren worked as an intern in the Office of Legal Counsel for the administration of Michigan’s Governor Whitmer. She also worked as a Judicial Extern to Former Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Cynthia D. Stephens. Motivated to address the needs of her home community, Lauren served as an advocate on the Coalition for Property Tax Justice in Detroit and also as a student attorney for Lakeshore Legal Aid and the Elder Law Advocacy Center.
