Mr. Valenti focuses his practice on regulatory compliance, internal investigations, and litigation. Many of his clients are involved with financial services, government contracting, health care, energy, information technology, or media.
He assists clients in settling or litigating cases involving a government party, focusing particularly on white-collar criminal defense. He also has experience with parallel proceedings, standalone civil or administrative enforcement actions, and cases involving civil-rights violations or misconduct by federal or state actors.
Mr. Valenti has counseled clients regarding matters investigated by the FBI, SEC, FRB, IRS, FinCEN, USPIS, DHS, DCIS, NCIS, AFOSI, FEC, FTC, DEA, FDA, HHS, EPA, DOT, OSHA, IG offices, and corresponding foreign and state agencies. In addition to representing subjects, targets, and defendants, he has represented third-party witnesses and potential investors doing business with entities under investigation. Mr. Valenti has specific experience with the Bank Secrecy Act (“BSA”), the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”), the False Claims Act (“FCA”), the Controlled Substances Act, the Economic Espionage Act, criminal fraud statutes, anti-money-laundering (“AML”) laws, forfeiture statutes, tax laws, consumer-protection laws, and related amendments and regulations.
