JD Wooten

Professional Biography

JD is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group where he assists clients in securing and protecting their creative rights in patent, trademark, and copyright matters with a focus on civil litigation and other forms of IP enforcement.  JD enjoys assisting clients – from entrepreneurial start-ups through large, established corporations – protect and leverage their intellectual property rights and assets through effective and aggressive legal action. 

Before law school, JD served in the U.S. Air Force as a defense acquisitions program manager and engineer.  His active duty experience included various management and engineering roles and culminated as a staff officer to the Commander of the Electronic Systems Center.  In this capacity, he was responsible for assisting the General in all internal and external communications to manage a 9,000 person organization with 150 defense programs and a $5 billion annual budget.  JD also served as an Honor Guardsman during this time, providing final military funeral honors for fallen service members and veterans.
