Jacob Michalakes is an associate in the firm's Chicago office. He is a member of the IP Litigation practice group. Previously, Jacob served as a law clerk in the Chicago office, where he supported the Intellectual Property Procurement and Management group. Additionally, Jacob was a summer associate at the firm, where he researched and drafted memos, performed prior art analyses and conducted infringement analyses for client's patent portfolios. Additionally, Jacob has experience in due diligence research and analysis for portfolio acquisitions. He also has experience drafting patent applications, including provisional and non-provisional application and drafting office action response. Prior to his legal career and while at the University of Dayton, Jacob worked in a behavioral neuroscience research lab that focused on advancing understanding of the neurobiological mechanisms underlying debilitating neuropsychiatric disorders.
