A member of the firm’s Intellectual Property group, Brendan Zee-Cheng focuses on complex intellectual property matters pending before trial and appellate courts throughout the United States and before the U.S. International Trade Commission.
Within this area, Brendan prosecutes and defends claims of patent infringement for businesses involving a wide array of products. Products defended and intellectual property protected include cellular networks, memory card readers and computerized vehicle safety systems.
Much of Brendan’s practice involves patent work. He works closely with scientists and corporate officers in the development, enhancement and licensing of patent portfolios. Handling all phases of litigation, Brendan prepares non-infringement and invalidity opinions, patentability, due diligence and patent landscape analyses. In these matters, he assists clients in pre-litigation enforcement of patent rights by performing initial infringement analyses, providing tailored patent enforcement strategies, preparing cease and desist letters, and negotiating settlement agreements.
