The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) New Approach Methodologies (NAM) Use for Regulatory Application (NURA) program will hold a webinar on May 23, 2024, on “Validation, Qualification, and Regulatory Acceptance of New Approach Methodologies: An ICCVAM Report.” National Toxicology Program (NTP) Interagency Center for the Evaluation of Alternative Toxicological Methods (NICEATM) Director Dr. Nicole Kleinstreuer will present on the 2024 Interagency Coordinating Committee on the Validation of Alternative Methods (ICCVAM) Report. Prepared by the ICCVAM Validation Workgroup with input from stakeholders, the Report “describes an approach to NAMs validation that reflects modern toxicity testing, placing less emphasis on replacement of in vivo tests with a single alternative method and more emphasis on integrating results from multiple in vitro and in chemico assays and in silico approaches.” The Report “presents a flexible approach to how confidence is established to help ensure the adoption of new methods by federal agencies and regulated industries once validated for a specific application or context of use.” After Dr. Kleinstreuer’s presentation, there will be a 30-minute question and answer session.
