OFCCP Extends VETS-4212 Report Due Date For Federal Contractors
Thursday, September 28, 2017

Due to the disruptions caused by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, the Office of Federal Contractor Compliance Programs (OFCCP) recently announced a 45-day extension for federal contractors to file their annual VETS-4212 Report (Report). The extension moves the original deadline to file the Report from Sept. 30, 2017 to Nov. 15, 2017 and applies to all federal contractors, regardless of whether they have been affected by the hurricanes.

As a reminder, pursuant to the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), federal contractors and subcontractors who have entered into a single contract or subcontract in the amount of $150,000 or more with any department or agency of the United States for the procurement of personal property or non-personal services must file an annual Report. The Report provides the OFCCP information regarding the number of employees and new hires working for the contractor during the reporting period who are protected veterans under VEVRAA. Contractors must keep their Reports for three years in order to fulfill their affirmative action obligations.

Covered contractors should take advantage of the filing deadline extension to ensure that their Reports fully and accurately reflect the required information.
