Professional Biography

Nick Spiliotis is a partner in the firm’s labor, employment and workplace safety practice group. He counsels employers regarding a broad range of workplace issues and vigorously defends lawsuits when contentious claims arise. He has particular experience representing clients in the oil and gas, restaurant and hospitality, banking, maritime, manufacturing, and construction industries. Nickolas regularly represents employers before administrative agencies, most frequently the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Texas Workforce Commission, the Department of Labor, and the National Labor Relations Board. He is a strategic advocate who seeks to minimize the possibility of employment litigation through effective counseling. He frequently drafts employment agreements containing restrictive covenants. He also routinely assists the firm’s corporate and transactional practice group with employment-related concerns and issues of mergers and acquisitions.

Nickolas is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been named a Rising Star by Thomson Reuters, 2012-2016 and a Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters 2017-2021.

Nickolas currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Hellenic College Holy Cross, a liberal arts college and seminary in Brookline, Massachusetts.

Nickolas is also an active recreational fisherman with deep knowledge of the commercial seafood and restaurant industries. In 2019, he was on a short-list of candidates submitted by the Governor of Texas for nomination to the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council.
