Matthew G. McBride represents clients in a broad range of transactions, with a focus on representation of investment managers in all aspects of their business. He has extensive experience in the establishment of private investment funds, structuring of management company and in-house arrangements, fund raising, co-investment transactions, joint ventures, management company sales, restructurings, and regulatory, compliance and governance matters. He is a partner in the firm’s Fund Formation and Investment Management Practice.
Matt has counseled both U.S. and non-U.S. sponsors of private equity funds pursuing a wide variety of strategies, including buyout, growth equity, private credit, venture capital, and fund of funds and secondaries. These sponsors have ranged from first-time/spin-out and emerging managers to some of the largest and best-known sponsors of private equity funds. His experience also includes representing institutional investors in connection with their investments in private investment funds, co-investments, and secondary transactions, as well as representing family offices in connection with structuring their investment vehicles, executive compensation plans and carried interest vehicles.
