Magdalena Olkiewicz-Borkowska is a licensed attorney (adwokat) in the firm's Gdynia and Warsaw offices. Her practice covers the area of intellectual property law, technology licensing and personal data protection law. She completed LL.M. courses in International Intellectual Property Law under the supervision of Professor G.B. Dinwoodie at Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Technical University in Chicago, USA, and she has also completed postgraduate studies in Intellectual Property Law at the University of Warsaw.
She has assisted clients in the manufacturing, automotive, software, transport and IT sectors in numerous licensing arrangements and in implementing the requirements of the EU Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). She has also conducted business training on GDPR implementation.
Magdalena has earned CIPP/E, the globally recognized certificate of expertise for information privacy issued by the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the most renowned community of experts on this subject.
She also advises clients on compliance issues, broadly understood law of new technologies, ePrivacy and unfair competition. In this regard, she has represented clients before courts and public authorities.
Magdalena is currently a Ph.D. student at the Institute of Law Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences (INP PAN) in Warsaw, where she focuses her research on data privacy and fundamental rights issues in the EU. She is fluent in English.
