Laura Soprana-Dec is an associate in the San Diego, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. A former Deputy County Counsel for the Office of County Counsel, County of Riverside, assisting the Department of Public Social Services, Laura is recognized by clients, colleagues and peers for the strength of her dedication and work ethic. Laura has always had a passion for labor and employment-related matters and strives to provide outstanding service to her clients.
Her practice focuses on representing employers in all aspects of employment litigation, including wage and hour actions, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination. Laura’s practice also includes counseling and advising employers on personnel issues such as hiring, discipline and terminations, leaves of absence, policy reviews and guidance.
Prior to law school, Laura was a program director for Asse International, a U.S. Department of State-designated sponsor for J-1 visa international students. Following law school, Laura initially pursued a corporate law practice, working as an associate for a boutique international law firm in Los Angeles, assisting companies with their corporate, employment and business immigration needs.
Before being admitted to the State Bar of California, Laura externed for the Honorable Scott C. Clarkson, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge, for the Central District of California.
Laura is originally from Italy and is a native Italian speaker.
