Professional Biography

Kevin P. Shortsle is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm's Chicago office. Kevin focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, patent prosecution and counseling. Kevin concentrates his litigation practice on Hatch-Waxman and medical device matters. His recent representations involved the following:

  • Knee, hip and spine surgical devices and techniques
  • Rapaflo® (silodosin), a treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia
  • Pristiq® (desvenlafaxine), a treatment for depression
  • Differin® (adapalene), a topical treatment for acne
  • Solaraze® (diclofenac), a topical treatment for actinic keratosis
  • EpiPen® (epinephrine auto injector), a treatment for anaphylaxis

Kevin handles all aspects of patent litigation, from pre-filing investigations through trial and appeal.
