Joseph J. Beglane is an Associate at Dinsmore's Cincinnati office. Joseph focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, routinely handling all aspects of disputes arising from trademarks, patents, copyrights, and unfair competition. His varied practice sees him drafting an appellate brief one day and filing a Complaint for trademark infringement the next. He also counsels clients through proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and proactively resolves intellectual property disputes prior to litigation.
He brings previous experience advising Fortune 100 clients in all phases of complex disputes, with a particular focus on appellate litigation and summary judgment motion practice. While his practice primarily involves Federal intellectual property litigation, he has extensive experience in both New York and New Jersey state courts, where he previously handled New York Labor Law and construction-related tort litigation. He served as a judicial clerk at the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division.
While in law school, Joseph consistently demonstrated his passion for intellectual property law, working as a member of the Intellectual Property & Entrepreneurship Clinic and as a research assistant for Intellectual Property Law scholar, Professor Mark McKenna. He also served as the solicitations editor for the Notre Dame Journal of Legislation.
