Jia Li is admitted to practice law in Indiana, New York, California, the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Ms. Li represents corporations in employment-related matters before federal/state courts and administrative agencies, including matters involving employment discrimination, wage and hour, family and medical leave, wrongful discharge, trade secret and unfair competition, and class action. In addition to defending businesses against employment-related claims, Ms. Li counsels corporations on a variety of employment compliance issues, and assist multinational corporations with employment matters that concern operations in different countries.
Ms. Li’s practice also includes data protection and privacy laws. She has advised clients on privacy issues governed by federal statutes and FTC regulations, handled large data breach issues for national clients, assisted corporations with breach notification requirements under state laws, counseled multinational clients on minimizing liabilities arising from employment-related data collection or transfer, and managed the risks associated with a data breach, workplace surveillance, or other privacy-related matters.
