Jeffrey D. Coren

Professional Biography

Jeffrey (Jeff) Coren is an experienced litigator who concentrates his practice on employment litigation, complex commercial cases, cross-border disputes, and cybersecurity matters.

Jeff represents businesses to protect trade secrets and to enforce employment, non-compete, and non-solicitation agreements. He also defends companies against claims involving discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, both by individual plaintiffs and in class actions. 

Jeff’s practice includes a wide range of business litigation, including shareholder disputes, breach of contract, business fraud, mortgage foreclosures, and bankruptcy adversary proceedings. Jeff is also experienced in cross-border disputes, customs litigation, and foreign judgment enforcement. He is admitted as a Foreign Legal Consultant in Ontario, Canada, and at the U.S. Court of International Trade.

Jeff counsels businesses concerning cybersecurity matters, including incident response plans and other IT policies. He regularly assists clients in response to data breaches, ransomware, cyberattacks, business email compromise, and other data security incidents. He also represents clients in litigation related to data breaches, cybersecurity, technology, cryptocurrency, and other digital assets.

Before joining Ogletree Deakins, Jeff practiced for 15 years in the litigation groups at law firms in Buffalo and New York, including Phillips Lytle LLP and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP.
