Jason Brown

Professional Biography

Jason Brown is an associate attorney in the San Francisco office of Ogletree Deakins. He primarily practices in litigation, including class action and PAGA wage and hour, wrongful termination, sexual harassment and discrimination, trade secrets, and administrative law.  He began his practice in 2008 in New York and New Jersey and began his practice in California in 2010.  He has practiced both for Plaintiffs and Defendants and he is currently practicing exclusively in management side litigation defense and counseling. 

Experience

  • November 2017:  Assisted in securing favorable nation-wide class action settlement on claims arising from the provision of background checks under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.  
  • October 2017:  Completed arbitration proceedings resulting in arbitral award for tech industry client prevailing against claims by a former employee for retaliation, and also prevailing on its counterclaims against the former employee who was proven liable for theft of employer trade secrets.  
  • May 2017:  Won summary adjudication dismissing retaliation claims brought by former nurse against  her client in the healthcare industry arising out of complaints of English language policy in the provision of healthcare.  
  • March 2017:  Obtained favorable verdict after second-chairing three month trial in Sacramento California defending financial service industry client against novel and complex  trade secrets misappropriation and unfair competition claims by industry competitor.  The trial was preceded by significant motion practice, including motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, motions for judgment, and significant motion in limine practice resulting from tens of depositions occurring in states all over the country.
