Evelyn A. Norton

Professional Biography

Evelyn is an associate in the Greenville office, focusing on Ogletree Deakins’ Employment Law and Litigation Practices. She graduated from Washington and Lee University, cum laude, with a degree in Journalism.  Evelyn later graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law, cum laude, where she served as an Editor on the Wake Forest Law Review, Staff Author of the Wake Forest Law Review Fourth Circuit Blog, and Board Member of the Wake Forest Moot Court Board.  She attended Wake Forest University on academic scholarship and received awards for earning the highest grades in evidence, professional responsibility, sales and secured transactions, and funeral and cemetery law.

Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Evelyn served as a judicial intern to The Honorable Thomas C. Wheeler at the United States Court of Federal Claims in Washington, D.C.  She also gained extensive first-chair experience in private practice where she specialized in workers’ compensation defense litigation with an emphasis on appellate work before not only the Full Commission, but also the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals of South Carolina.  As part of her appellate practice, Evelyn had the privilege of appearing before the Supreme Court of South Carolina and arguing an issue of statutory interpretation and construction for the defense.
