Employee Relations Counseling & Compliance
Erik assists employers of all sizes, including public and private companies, emerging businesses and nonprofit organizations. His advice is not limited to what the law permits or requires. Erik works closely with clients to drive value and consider the many legal, PR, employee relations and other practical issues companies encounter in managing employment matters. He has advised on employment issues involving foreign operations in Canada, Europe and Asia. His purview includes but is not limited to:

Labor Management Relations
Erik helps businesses navigate all things labor relations, including grievance arbitrations, unfair labor practice proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and responses to union organizing campaigns and petitions for representation. Erik supports clients and trains supervisors on effective employee management in unionized and non-unionized environments. He also provides strategic advice and counseling on the labor law issues that can arise in mergers, acquisitions and reorganizations, and in consolidations, relocations and closings involving union and non-union facilities.
Employment Litigation and Mediation
With successful experience mediating and litigating employment issues, Erik works with clients to explain how employment decisions will be presented and defended if challenged by employees. He has successfully represented employers in state and federal courts and before federal, state and municipal agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and the Minnesota Department of Human Rights.
