Professional Biography

Elana C. Taub is an associate in the Baltimore, Maryland, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters, including preventive advice and counseling.

Elana focuses on litigation of employment claims, including claims of race, sex, age, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, and gender identity discrimination/retaliation claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. She also defends age discrimination claims under the Age discrimination in Employment Act; disability discrimination claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act; and accommodation/discrimination claims under the Family and Medical Leave Act.

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Elana was an associate in the labor and employment practice group of a Maryland law firm, where she represented public school systems across Maryland, providing advice and counseling.

Before entering the private sector, Elana was an assistant public defender with the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, where she represented indigent clients in criminal matters.

During law school, Elana was a staff editor for the Maryland Public Interest Law Project; Journal of Race, Religion, Gender & Class. Elana was the Criminal Law Association president and a member of the Women’s Bar Association. She received the William P. Cunningham Award for exceptional achievements and service to the school.

Prior to attending law school, Elana taught third grade as a Corps Member with Teach For America.
