Edward M. Richters is a Principal in the Hartford, Connecticut, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. For over 30 years, he has focused his practice on employer defense and counseling, including jury and bench trials in state and federal court, labor arbitrations, proceedings before the Department of Labor, Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, and Workers’ Compensation Commission, as well as appellate work before the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Second and Sixth Circuits.
In addition to his extensive background as a trial lawyer and legal counselor, Mr. Richters has significant experience as a senior human resources executive of a major corporation, having served as Vice President - Human Resources and Ethics Officer for the Northeast Utilities System (now Eversource Energy) - one of the largest electric utilities in the United States and the largest in New England - where he was responsible for all aspects of human resources design and administration for a diverse workforce of 9300 professional and physical employees in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire including: policy development and implementation, staffing, employee benefits, compensation, general employee relations, EEO/diversity, quality of work-life programs, occupational safety and health, learning and development programs, disability management and labor relations for 2400 union employees covered by 11 contracts. He was also responsible for a comprehensive, system-wide ethics and corporate compliance program.
