Michael is an assistant professor of finance at Fairfield University in Connecticut. He holds a PhD in finance from the University of Tennessee and his work has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, CNN, Nasdaq.com, Bloomberg, Reuters, and many other outlets. Michael consults with various companies on matters related to finance and investments and he has served as an expert witness on finance related matters in legal disputes.
Prior to becoming a professor, Michael worked as a municipal bond trader for Wachovia Securities. His role there included analyzing various bond issues and forecasting returns based on proprietary models. Previously, he also worked for a hedge fund in Greenwich doing quantitative data mining and analysis. While working and prior to entering his PhD program, Michael was also a partner in a construction company that he originally founded as an undergraduate at Clemson University. This company built houses in the Charlotte, NC and Greenville, SC area. Michael holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Economics.
