Charlie Edwards is a seasoned trial lawyer and insurance claim advocate who is co-chair of the firm’s Insurance Recovery and Counseling practice. He has helped a wide range of businesses and individuals obtain hundreds of millions of dollars of insurance proceeds in his career. He has secured insurance coverage for lawsuits, construction defects, natural disasters, thefts and other types of losses.
In his third decade of practice, Charlie’s litigation experience includes D&O claims, complex commercial disputes, real estate disputes, complex construction claims, contract disputes, errors and omissions, and professional liability claims. Notably, he served as co-lead trial counsel in a six-week jury trial that resulted in a $204 million verdict in favor of one of the firm’s policyholder clients.
Charlie has also coordinated both coverage and the defense of nationwide product liability litigation. In that role, he has appeared in courtrooms across the country and coordinated activities of defense counsel in individual cases, mass torts and multidistrict litigation. In addition, he has negotiated and litigated with insurance companies to secure the defense and indemnification of such lawsuits.
Charlie’s roles include business adviser, trial lawyer and appellate advocate. He is a team player who regularly works with in-house counsel, risk managers, business leaders and others on complex insurance claims and commercial disputes.
