Bridget A. Blinn-Spears, counsel in the Raleigh office of K&L Gates, focuses her practice on employment and labor litigation, client counseling and investigations, employment and restrictive covenant agreements, and due diligence in support of corporate deals. She has experience dealing with claims of various kinds of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation/whistleblowing claims under both state and federal laws. She also handles tort claims against individual defendants. Her experience also includes defense of class actions under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act. She defends her clients in both state and federal court, as well as in administrative actions.
She also provides counseling to clients regarding employment decisions related to managing complex discipline and termination scenarios, assisting clients to solve problems in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, including Title VII, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and various other federal and state laws impacting employment relationships. She also conducts investigations into employee complaints of discrimination and harassment or other whistleblowing claims.
