Bensy is an employment litigator in Ogletree Deakins’ Seattle office. She represents employers in all aspects of employment litigation, including cases alleging Title VII discrimination; disability, age and military status discrimination; sexual harassment; retaliation for protected activity; wrongful discharge; wage and hour claims; FMLA violations; and breaches of non-competition agreements. Bensy also represents companies in trade secret, unfair competition, breach of contract and other business-related litigation.
Bensy has substantial experience appearing before state and federal courts, as well as federal administrative agencies including the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the U.S. Merit Systems Protections Board. She has represented employers in the technology, manufacturing, retail, transportation, insurance, agriculture and hospitality industries.
Bensy has taken and defended numerous depositions, and has drafted and argued several motions, including motions for summary judgment. She has taken seven cases to trial as the first chair attorney leading litigation and strategy.
Bensy also advises employers on day-to-day employment matters including discipline and termination, leaves of absence, wage and hour compliance, employee handbooks and preventative policies and practices.
