Professional Biography

Andrea focuses her practice on complex insurance coverage litigation, commercial litigation and construction litigation. She is dedicated to zealously advocating for her clients while providing a practical, strategic approach that comports with their corporate objectives. In addition to her analytical thinking, Andrea is particularly valued for her writing skills and trial experience.

Andrea has advocated and secured millions of dollars for some of the nation’s largest companies by resolving their complex insurance coverage disputes, ranging from catastrophic property losses and opioid, asbestos and other product-related liabilities to construction-related delay and business interruption losses. Andrea also provides proactive guidance to clients’ senior management on the intricacies of insurance policies and securing and negotiating favorable policy language to avoid costly coverage disputes.

On a broader scale, Andrea also represents corporate entities in large-scale commercial disputes being mediated, arbitrated and litigated throughout the nation. She has represented developers, builders, pharmaceutical distributors, manufacturers, and many other types of corporate entities.

Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Andrea was a legal intern in the Chief Counsel’s Office of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Legislation and Regulations Division in Washington, D.C. Prior to law school, she served as a legislative intern at the Indiana State Senate and worked as a legal assistant at two law offices. She is a frequent author and contributor to the firm’s BT Policyholder Protection blog, Corporate Policyholder magazine and the Construction Law Update newsletter.
