Professional Biography

Adam focuses his intellectual property practice on patent litigation before federal district courts, the International Trade Commission, and the US Patent and Trademark Office. He handles disputes involving electrical and computer innovations for clients across a broad spectrum of industries, including technology, life sciences, biotechnology, medical devices, financial services, clean technology, and health care.

A seasoned practitioner with an electrical engineering background and past experience as a patent examiner, Adam takes a holistic approach to helping clients achieve their business objectives while representing them in all phases of litigation. His experience spans a broad range of technologies, including computing-related areas such as wireless technologies, natural-language understanding technologies, cable networking, source code management, cloud computing, desktop and application virtualization, and mobile game applications. He also has deep knowledge of cybersecurity solutions, financial technology, power and facilities systems, train systems, photovoltaic systems, ophthalmological devices, automobile systems, and biomedical devices.

Prior to joining Mintz, Adam was an associate at two national law firms, where he handled an array of patent matters, including inter partes review proceedings before the USPTO, US and international patent prosecution, and strategic patent counseling. Earlier, as a patent examiner for the USPTO, he evaluated software-related patents, including innovations involving data processing, project management, code generation, installation, debugging, compiling, linking, and optimization. At the beginning of his legal career, Adam was a patent agent / technical specialist at an international law firm.
