What do you love most about what you do?
I love helping people see and reach their potential. I work with successful lawyers and the business professionals who support them. It’s so rewarding to help them all to be as successful as possible.
Any advice to women about succeeding in the workplace?
Stay focused on your goals. It’s okay for people call you “aggressive” – nobody gets to their goals by being wimpy – so go for it. Don’t let other people control your behavior. And lastly, give people a chance. Don’t micromanage them.
What is the best career advice you’ve ever received?
-
Ask for feedback and don’t get defensive about it.
-
Never stop until you reach your goals
-
Ignore negative comments.
How do you achieve work/life balance?
I’m not sure I do but I try not to work on Sundays for starters, and I’m more focused on getting back to my workout routine in the mornings and not being as obsessed with getting to my desk early in the morning.
Which woman most inspires you and why?
Condoleeza Rice. She is impresssive, and she knows what she wants and what she doesn’t, and she stays the course. She cares about her team as well. Our niece was her Chief Security Officer and could not say enough good things about what a great and brilliant person she truly is.
