Every month, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Office of the Whistleblower publishes Notices of Covered Actions for each SEC action where a final judgment or order results in monetary sanctions exceeding $1 million.
Earlier this week, the SEC Office of the Whistleblower posted Notices of Covered Actions for March 2020.
Subject to the Final Rules, individuals who voluntarily provided the SEC with original information after July 21, 2010, that led to the successful enforcement of a covered action are eligible to apply for a whistleblower award. SEC whistleblowers can receive monetary awards between 10-30% of the sanctions obtained by the Commission.
Once the SEC posts a Notice of Covered Action, the claimant has 90 calendar days to apply for an award.
The SEC urged whistleblowers to submit their tips via fax at (703) 813-9322.
