- Use Adwords, Wordtracker or Google searchbox suggestions to research the common queries that people use to find specific topics. Use those keywords in your pages’ titles and descriptions, and throughout the content. One note: User experience ALWAYS trumps SEO. If you have a question about whether the resulting text on your page looks spammy, defer to the user experience.
- Be consistent with the anchor text that you use to link to pages. Never use the same anchor text to link to different pages.
- Build asset pages that have no commercial intent, but that are truly interesting and informative. Use these pages to try to attract good links. Structure these pages on your site under (hierarchical) important pages. Link from these high-traffic content pages to your conversion pages.
