USCIS announced that the Congressionally mandated number of H-1B petitions for both "regular" and "master's" categories has been met, and there will not be a supplemental lottery for FY2026. In prior years, USCIS has held at least one supplemental lottery, but not this year. USCIS has been updating online accounts with notices of "non-selection." USCIS still accepts non-cap H-1B petitions, such as H-1B extensions, changes of employer, concurrent employment, and cap-exempt petitions.
Employers with H-1B pending registrations hoping for a supplemental lottery this year will have to seek other visa solutions for their employees. Those not selected can be entered in the FY2027 H-1B lottery in March, provided there are no changes to the lottery program.
