Indiana Holds at Stage 4.5 of Reopening Plan; Masks Still Required
Tuesday, September 1, 2020

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb has announced that reopening will remain at Stage 4.5 through September 25, 2020.

Under Stage 4.5, restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues are not allowed to return to full capacity. Additionally, amusement parks, raceways, and movie theaters (among others) are limited to 50 percent of capacity. For a full list of restrictions under Stage 4.5, see our article, Indiana Reopening Plan Moves to New Stage 4.5.

Governor Holcomb also extended the statewide face mask order through September 25. This decision was made because of COVID-19 positivity rates in Indiana, which have plateaued since the mask order was enacted. Governor Holcomb stated, “[W]e’d like to see it to start to trend down even more so.”

Reopening orders contain extensive requirements creating compliance issues that can vary significantly depending on the specific state or local jurisdiction. Jackson Lewis attorneys are closely monitoring updates and changes to legal requirements and guidance and are available to help employers weed through the complexities involved with state-specific or multistate-compliant plans.
