On Wednesday, February 5, the House Committee on Energy and Commerce’s Subcommittee on Energy held a hearing titled “Powering America’s Future: Unleashing American Energy.”
The discussion held covered a wide range of energy issues, including:
- the growing demand for energy, primarily triggered by the need to operate data centers;
- the Trump administration’s recent executive actions surrounding federal funding for clean energy projects and the need for long-term regulatory certainty and predictability;
- the role that U.S. oil and gas production plays, including LNG exports, in economic and national security;
- the role of nuclear energy and renewable sources of energy; and
- permitting for transmission and pipeline infrastructure.
