According to the ADP National Franchise Report, franchise businesses were responsible for adding more than 15,000 jobs during the month of September 2013. Most of these job gains were in the restaurant sector. According to the report's author, the ADP Research Institute:
On a year over year basis, franchise employment growth continues to outpace the broader private sector job market by a measure of 2.5 percent versus 1.9 percent. Franchise industry sectors showing an annual growth rate greater than 2.5 percent include restaurants, leisure, food retailers, business services and personal care services.
This is welcome news in general, but particularly to those of us who work in the franchising industry. I know we all hope the trend continues.
