On July 12, 2023, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced the expansion of the myProgress tool in USCIS online accounts. This expansion includes the addition of Form I-765 (Application for Employment Authorization) and Form I-131 (Application for Travel Document) to the tracking options.
MyProgress tracking is already available for Form N-400 (Naturalization), Form I-90 (Permanent Resident Card Replacement), and Form I-130 (Alien Relative Petitions). To access the myProgress tab, users must have an online USCIS account. Users can sign up for a USCIS account by visiting Citizenship and Immigration Services – Sign up for a USCIS Account.
The myProgress tab in the USCIS account is designed to provide personalized updates on the processing of linked applications or petitions, including projected wait times, case milestones, and final case decisions. If the applicant has e-filed or linked the relevant forms to their account using an online access code, the applicant will find a myProgress tab displaying the estimated wait time and three milestones:
-
Confirmation of application receipt
-
Completion of biometric services appointment (if required)
-
Final decision
Estimated wait times are based on past case processing history, allowing applicants to get a sense of their case progress and expected timelines. However, myProgress estimates are not guarantees of actual processing times; rather, they function as metrics for applicants to approximate case progress.
Applicants should still visit the public Check Case Processing Times webpage to determine eligibility for filing an Outside of Normal Processing Times service request.
