Zach focuses his work in government procurement and strategic sourcing at the state agency, county and municipal government levels, as well as with colleges and universities; all the while building and fostering deep government, agency and client connections and relationships.
Leveraging his strength and skill in understanding the government procurement process is invaluable to firm clients. Because he knows the intricacies of the process, he can best look at what’s to come and position himself to speak with key decision-makers. Zach is a Certified Purchasing Agent, one of only a few in Georgia who hold that certification.
Recently, Zach was selected as a member of Georgians First Commission’s task force on State Procurement for Small Business, which was created by Gov. Brian Kemp to allow business to work more effectively with legislative entities.
Zach was vice president of government relations with McGuireWoods Consulting, where he led its Georgia government procurement efforts centered on information technology, data security and analysis, and healthcare IT and advocacy.
Before that, he was the director of government relations with the Georgia Department of Administrative Services, where he was responsible for outreach to the Georgia General Assembly, state agencies, and local and county governments, as well as to the University System of Georgia and the Technical College System of Georgia.
Zach also served on the Georgia Technology Authority Innovation Committee, where he worked as a member of a cross-functional team looking at technology innovation across the entire enterprise of state government.
Zach began his government career working with former Georgia State Senate Majority Whip Cecil Staton on issues related to science, technology, higher education, and transportation. He also was a lobbyist for the State Bar of Georgia, where he created and implemented the bar’s statewide grassroots program.
