Whitney P. Cooney is Of Counsel in the St. Louis, Missouri, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Ms. Cooney advises and represents employers in a broad range of employment law matters, including those involving employee discipline, wage and hour practices, handbook policy drafting and development, and well as FMLA and ADA compliance.
As a trial attorney, Ms. Cooney has litigated cases on behalf of employers in federal and state court and has also argued before the Missouri Court of Appeals. She frequently handles charges of discrimination pending before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Missouri Commission on Human Rights, Illinois Department of Human Rights, and other state agencies and has served as lead counsel in numerous labor arbitrations.
Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Ms. Cooney practiced law for nearly a decade at a boutique labor and employment firm where she represented clients on a national basis. While in law school, Ms. Cooney received the Excellence for the Future Award for International Law and also served as a Note and Comment Editor of the Missouri Law Review.
