Prior to joining the firm, he worked as head of regulatory affairs for a Berlin-based technology company operating in the mobility sector. He coordinated the regulatory and EU affairs department of the company and provided legal advice on EU laws and policies on matters related to climate change, transportation and mobility. In carrying out this function, he also served as co-chair of the trade association that defends the interests of the sustainable mobility industry vis-à-vis European Institutions.
Previously, he was responsible for European policies and regulations for the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), dealing with a vast array of subjects, from EU competition law, notably in relation to state aid regulation for sports infrastructure, to matters related to the protection and safeguarding of human rights in sport.
Valerio has also worked for international organizations and the Italian government; more precisely, the national digital agency, providing advice on issues related to international and European public law.
