Stephanie A. Kierig is an associate in the San Diego, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Stephanie defends clients in state and federal court, as well as before arbitrators and civil service commissions, and provides legal advice and counsel to help clients navigate legal and business workplace challenges. Having spent her first years of practice as a traditional labor lawyer representing unions, public employee associations, and their members, Stephanie’s experience provides a distinct perspective and understanding of the law that she uses to assist her clients in developing defense strategies.
A native San Diegan, Stephanie first became interested in the law as a junior in high school, when she was selected to attend the National Student Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. As part of the Conference’s Law and Advocacy Program, she learned how to advocate in the courtroom and participated in a week-long trial simulation, while also gaining valuable leadership skills. Since then, Stephanie has been dedicated to her legal career, studying political science and interning at a civil litigation firm as an undergrad, and obtaining experience as a litigation paralegal and law clerk before becoming an attorney.
Throughout law school, Stephanie worked at a local labor and employment law firm, where she second-chaired hearings before administrative agencies, aided associates in preparing cases for arbitration, and assisted in providing guidance to clients on a variety of employment-related issues. She was also a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship and earned multiple CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Advanced Civil Discovery Practice, Advanced Legal Research, Adjudicatory Criminal Procedure, and Death Penalty in the United States.
