Sarah McGarrell works with emerging, growth, and closely held companies, and advises startup founders on pre-market corporate governance issues and early-stage financing from term sheet through closing. Sarah’s clients include companies across a spectrum of industries, from consumer retail to manufacturing to technology.
Sarah has a particular interest in, and experience with, the emerging cannabis industry. She represents companies in the medical, recreational, and hemp industries and frequently works with entrepreneurs and stakeholders to develop sustainable, thoughtful, and compliant business structures and financing plans. In addition, Sarah represents investors in leaf touching and non-leaf touching opportunities, counseling on due diligence, structure, and regulatory issues across all stages of investment.
In addition, Sarah has represented investors through all stages of their investment cycle and advised portfolio companies as in-house counsel at a private equity firm. As a former entrepreneur herself, Sarah brings a unique perspective and understands the challenges facing founders and young companies.
