Sally Trung Nguyen is of counsel in the Silicon Valley, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Sally has a special affinity in representing clients in labor and employment law matters. She regularly advises and counsels management on employment law compliance and best employment practices. In recognizing that litigation arising from employment disputes cannot always be prevented and that clients’ needs vary, Sally strives to provide advice that is specifically tailored to each client’s circumstances and priorities to help them overcome potential challenges they may face in a lawsuit.
Sally has advised numerous clients in the areas of medical leaves of absence, disability accommodations, sexual harassment, workplace bullying, at-will employment termination, just cause discipline, employee due process rights, layoffs, furloughs, background checks, medical examinations, wage and hour compliance, and collective bargaining. Additionally, Sally defends employers against claims involving workplace harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour violations.
Sally has successfully represented clients in disciplinary appeals, grievance arbitrations, and administrative hearings. She has also represented employers as lead labor negotiator for multiple collective bargaining agreements. Moreover, she has served as Counsel for the City of Oakland’s Civil Service Board, which is responsible for the enforcement and supervision of the City’s personnel system.
In addition, Sally is an experienced workplace investigator and is an Association of Workplace Investigators Certificate Holder (AWI-CH). She has conducted complex workplace investigations involving sworn and non-sworn employees, as well as oversaw investigations concerning high-ranking officials. For investigations she oversaw, Sally counseled her clients on the investigation process, legal issues that arose, and strategic remedial actions.
